'Swim with Sam' was a balladeer's first single, released on 28 April 2006. The song was inspired by 'Held van Beroep' (Hero By Profession), a novel by Dutch writer Adriaan Jaeggi (1963 - 2008).

Sam here says he lost his call

the ocean was a tub of sharks
with Jacques-Yves as a guide
